8. I was inspired to enter this line of work ...
I love the action and fast pace of lobbying. I also believe it is meaningful and important work.

9. My most memorable moment in politics was ...
Working on a congressional campaign right after college was an eye-opening experience on just how rough-and-tumble politics can be. I learned just as much about life as I did about running a political campaign.

10. The moment in politics I'd rather forget was ...
Apparently, I already have.

11. The winning political formula in Wisconsin is ...
Write a plan, execute it, and out-work your opponent in the process.

12. The thing that's changed the most in politics since I started has been ...
The increased animosity between the major political parities and the insatiable appetite for campaign contributions. I don't know that either has changed so much as they have intensified.

13. I like politics when ...
When it makes a difference.

14. I hate politics when ...
Good politics trumps good public policy.

15. If I weren't working in politics, I'd be ...
A professional mountain guide.

16. When I'm not working, I'd rather be ...
Spending time with my wife and son.

17. My favorite place in Wisconsin is ...
The south shore of Lake Superior. I love the sense of isolation and pristine beauty.

18. My favorite place outside Wisconsin is ...
The American West, where there are mountains to summit and trails to hike.

19. Most people don't know I'm good at ...
Buying and selling vintage tractors.

20. The book I'm recommending these days is ...
Goodnight, Stinky Face. It is the children's book I read to my son last night at bedtime. Books with just a few sentences and lots of colorful pictures on the pages are the only ones I can commit to reading these days.

I find it a major struggle just to keep up with all of the newspapers, magazines, newsletters, emails, reports and everything else that finds its way into my inbox.

21. The TV show I'm recommending these days is ...
Entourage on HBO. The show suggests that the movie business may be a bigger bloodsport than politics. It is the only show I make time to watch.

22. The movie I'm recommending these days is ...
Pretty much any of the major animated full length features. My son is mesmerized by them.

23. If I had the chance, I'd really like to have lunch with ...
Rush Limbaugh. I love his radio show, but I suspect I would find him insufferable in person.

24. If I was king of Wisconsin for a day, I'd declare that ...
People who drive in the left lane of a two-lane highway must yield to faster traffic or have their license revoked for one year.

I would also declare the Dane County Regional Airport a major hub for all airlines, thereby allowing me to fly anywhere direct.

25. Twenty five years from now, Wisconsin politicos will be talking about ....
Speculation that Tommy Thompson might run for governor.

26. The question I really wanted to answer was ...
Why banks are so important to Wisconsin.

27. And the answer is ...
They are the foundation of economic development and growth in every community of this state. Bankers don't get the credit they deserve for all they contribute to the state's economy and to their local communities.
