MADISON- State Representative Timothy Ramthun (R-Campbellsport) issued the following statement reacting to Governor Evers implementing a statewide, mandatory mask order: “I am again extremely disappointed by the actions of Gov. Evers. Yet another draconian act by a Governor who has previously displayed a complete disregard for individual liberty,” Rep. Madison – On Friday, State Senator Alberta Darling, issued the following statement regarding Governor Evers’ mask mandate: “Rights do not go away during a pandemic. In fact, it’s more important than ever to protect the rights of the people of Wisconsin from another overreach by our governor. Requiring masks should be up to local officials and businesses. I support the decisions of many of my local municipalities, restaurants, doctor’s offices, bars, gyms, and other businesses that already require a patron to wear a mask. I wear a mask when it is appropriate, but I do not support Governor Evers’ latest

U.S. Rep. Moore: Secures funding to invest in our community

“We need investments in Milwaukee, especially during the pandemic, to expand opportunity, support our most vulnerable, and to protect the health of our communities. I am especially proud of the provisions I fought for, to enhance funding by $10 million for federal TRIO programs to ensure students with backgrounds like mine can succeed in higher education. I also secured funding for eviction prevention programs and to properly fund support for those who are experiencing homelessness. This is critical given that in Milwaukee County, evictions increased by 26 percent in June. My efforts helped increase funding by $3 million for CDC’s childhood

Sen. Hansen: Response to Sen. Fitzgerald’s decision to overturn the Gov. Evers’ Emergency Order

“In what is no surprise, Senate Republicans wasted no time announcing their intent to overturn Governor Ever’s Executive order requiring people to wear masks in public along with his earlier order that could result in the National Guard no longer being able to help with virus testing or assisting poll workers in providing safety at the polls for voters this fall. “Since the Republicans came to power under Scott Walker their only concern has been protecting their own hold on power.  This has come to include attacking Governor Evers at all costs even if it costs the lives of their

Rep. Ott: One size fits all mask requirement not right for Wisconsin

Madison – Recently, the village of Whitefish Bay enacted a mask ordinance. I fully support the right of local governments and health officials to make decisions based on data pertinent to their area, in this case Whitefish Bay, and make the choice they feel is best for their community. On Thursday Governor Evers issued a statewide edict for the wearing of masks. As we know, some counties are “hot spots”, some have very few cases and there are others where we don’t have accurate information due to data being withheld. That being the case, I strongly disagree with the statewide
