American Bridge 21st Century, a Dem-aligned super PAC, today unveiled a new ad knocking President Trump for his handling of the pandemic and politicizing school reopening.

Deputy Communications Director Kyle Morse told WisPolitics.com the spot is set to run in the Green Bay/Appleton, La Crosse/Eau Claire, and Wausau/Rhinelander media markets and is the latest ad in rotation as part of a $5 million TV and radio made earlier this summer.

The ad features criticism of Trump’s pandemic response from Jane, a special education teacher who voted for the president in 2016. She says when the COVID-19 first hit, Trump was willing to take guidance “from people who have the answers.”

“But things got a little hairy and he blamed everybody else,” she said.

The spot then cuts to a local news report about threats by the president to cut funding for schools if they don’t reopen in the fall.

“Trump has made going back to school a political issue rather than a health issue,” Jane says in the ad. “The president needs to understand this country is not about him.”
