Joe Biden has launched a 60-second spot that uses footage from his speech Monday in Pittsburgh denouncing rioting and looting, calling it “lawlessness” that should be prosecuted.
The campaign said the spot is airing nationwide on cable and in 10 states, including Wisconsin. But the release didn’t include details of the Wisconsin buy.
Biden also knocks Trump, saying his failure to call on his supporters to stop acting as an armed militia shows how weak he is.
“Fires are burning, and we have a president who fans the flames,” Biden says. “He can’t stop the violence because for years he’s fomented it.”
Biden says if he were president, he would be looking to lower the temperature, not raise it, and quotes former Pope John Paul II.
“Be not afraid,” he says to close the ad.
