The state Dem Party is having “internal discussions” on contingency options for its June 12-13 convention in Wisconsin Dells.

Spokeswoman Courtney Beyer told WisPolitics.com options under consideration include limiting the number of people who can attend the convention in person and holding some events virtually.

Beyer stressed that discussions on contingency options were preliminary and any final decisions would need to be approved by the party’s administrative committee.

That committee is scheduled to meet this week, and Beyer said final decisions should be made by the end of the day on Friday.

Meanwhile, the state GOP has its convention scheduled roughly a month earlier on May 15-17 in Green Bay.

A WisGOP spokeswoman said in an email the party is “evaluating our options, monitoring the situation closely.
