Dem U.S. Senate candidate Mandela Barnes raised more than $1.1 million during the third quarter, his campaign says.
Barnes’ campaign wrote in a memo released this morning it was the best initial quarter for a first-time U.S. Senate candidate in Wisconsin. Alex Lasry raised just under $1.1 million during the first quarter after he announced his bid, while Sarah Godlewski pulled in $513,856 during her initial quarter in the race.
Barnes’ campaign also said the lt. gov. finished September with more than $700,000 in the bank.
Barnes is the third Dem U.S. Senate candidate to drop some fundraising numbers ahead of Friday’s filing deadline.
Lasry’s campaign released a memo earlier this month saying he’d raised more than $3 million since getting into the campaign. Lasry, on leave from his job with the Milwaukee Bucks, reported more than $2 million raised by the end of June, putting his third-quarter fundraising around $1 million.
Meanwhile, Godlewski put $1 million of her own money into her campaign, which didn’t release any other details of her fundraising during the three-month period.
