Conservative group sues to prevent voters from recasting absentee ballots

A conservative group has filed a lawsuit seeking to prevent voters from recasting their absentee ballots if they change their mind on who they want to support.

The group Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections filed the suit in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Friday. It argues voters who receive absentee ballots are only allowed to “spoil” them before they’re returned to local clerks. In those cases, the voters must return the spoiled ballot to their clerk to receive a new one.
