WTMJ-TV’s Charles Benson and Shannon Sims will serve as co-moderators for Sunday’s statewide televised Dem U.S. Senate debate, which is co-sponsored by WisPolitics.com, Marquette University, WTMJ-AM and the Milwaukee Business Journal.
NBC’s Chuck Todd, moderator of “Meet the Press,” will no longer participate in the event.
An NBC spokesman said Todd has a scheduling conflict.
Mandela Barnes, Sarah Godlewski, Alex Lasry, Tom Nelson and Steven Olikara are scheduled to participate.
Meanwhile, WISN-TV announced it is doing town hall events with GOP candidates for guv and the Dem U.S. Senate candidates.
The Aug. 1 town hall featuring GOP guv candidates will include: Rebecca Kleefisch, Tim Michels and Tim Ramthun.
The Aug. 2 town hall featuring Dem U.S. Senate candidates will include: Barnes, Godlewski, Lasry and Nelson.
WTMJ-TV and its partners are co-sponsoring a debate featuring the GOP guv candidates on July 24.
