The latest Fox News poll finds tight races for U.S. Senate and guv.

In the Senate race, 48 percent of those who have already voted or said they are certain to cast a ballot favored GOP incumbent Ron Johnson, while 46 percent backed Dem Mandela Barnes. A month ago, it was a 50-45 margin in Johnson’s favor.

In the guv’s race, 48 percent of those who have said they have already voted or are certain to cast ballots favored GOP construction exec Tim Michels, while 47 percent favored Dem Gov. Tony Evers. Last month, 49 percent backed Michels, compared to 47 percent for Evers.

The poll didn’t list independent Joan Beglinger, who has dropped out of the race but remains on the ballot, as an option.

The Dem firm Beacon Research and GOP firm Shaw & Co. jointly conducted the survey Oct. 26-30 for Fox News. It included interviews with 1,000 registered voters contacted via landlines and cell phones. The portion of the sample that said they have already voted or are certain to vote had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
