GOP guv candidate Tim Michels, who originally said he wanted to remove the commissioners and top agency staff in an overhaul of the Elections Commission, now wants it eliminated.
Michels said in a statement that his thinking evolved after campaigning and spending the weekend at the GOP state convention. He didn’t detail what system he would favor instead of the commission to oversee elections in Wisconsin, other than saying he didn’t want to “empower” Dem AG Josh Kaul or Dem Secretary of State Doug LaFollette.
