Chicago selected to host 2024 Democratic National Convention

The Democratic National Committee announced today that Chicago will host its convention Aug. 19-22, meaning both parties will formally nominate their 2024 presidential candidates in the Midwest.

Dems will gather in Chicago nearly a month after Republicans have their convention in Milwaukee July 15-18. 

Gov. Tony Evers hailed the party’s decision. Chicago beat out Atlanta and New York for the convention.

It comes after Dems picked Milwaukee for their 2020 convention only for the event to go virtual due to COVID-19.
