Eleven GOP lawmakers are proposing legislation to abolish the Wisconsin Elections Commission and transfer the agency’s responsibilities to the secretary of state’s office.
Under the proposal, the secretary of state’s office would assume the duties of the commission, effective June 30 -- four months before Wisconsin is expected to be a key state in the 2024 presidential election.
