Vice President Kamala Harris plans to visit UW-Madison as she tours college campuses this fall to mobilize young people on issues such as abortion, gun safety and LGBTQ+ equality, the White House announced today.

The trip — dubbed the “Fight for Our Freedoms College Tour” — will hit about a dozen campuses in at least seven states.

The first three are all historically black colleges and universities, starting with Hampton University in Virginia on Sept. 14.

The White House didn’t announce a date for the UW-Madison stop. A university spokesperson said UW-Madison isn’t sponsoring the event and referred questions to the White House.

Harris was last in Wisconsin in early August, her fourth trip to the state since taking office.
