The latest national Marquette University Law School Poll found Nikki Haley performing the best of the top three GOP presidential contenders against Joe Biden.
But she was also more than 30 points behind Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination.
Among registered voters, 55% backed Haley in a hypothetical matchup with Biden, while it was 52-48 for Trump and 51-49 for DeSantis.
In the September poll, it was 51-48 in Trump’s favor and 51-48 for DeSantis among registered voters.
Looking at likely voters, it was a 56-44 lead for Haley, 51-49 for Trump and 51-49 for DeSantis.
These results include voters who were initially undecided but asked to choose one of the candidates.
Among registered GOP voters, Trump was at 54% for the party’s presidential nomination. DeSantis and Haley were tied at 12% each.
The survey of 856 registered voters was conducted Nov. 2-7 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points. For the likely voter sample of 668, the margin of error was plus or minus 5 percentage points. The margin of error on the questions for the GOP presidential primary was plus or minus 6.6 percentage points with a sample size of 398.
