Liberal Supreme Court candidate Janet Protasiewicz announced today she’s launching a $700,000 TV buy over the three weeks ahead of the Feb. 21 primary.

The campaign said it has reserved time in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Wausau-Rhinelander, Madison and the La Crosse-Eau Claire markets. The campaign said the buy includes broadcast and cable TV. It also will soon begin a digital campaign.

The announcement comes on the heels of Protasiewicz reporting that she raised a record $924,329 in 2022. That includes $756,117 during the final six months of the year, more than her three rivals raised combined.

The race features Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge, Dane County Circuit Court Judge Everett Mitchell, and two conservatives: Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Dorow and former Justice Daniel Kelly.

The top two finishers in the primary will advance to the April 4 election, which will determine the ideological control of the court for at least the next two years.
