Voters head to the polls for spring election

Ideological control of the state Supreme Court is on the ballot today in what is predicted to be a higher-than-usual spring election turnout.

Conservatives now have a 4-3 edge after winning control of the court in 2008, though Brian Hagedorn sometimes sides with liberals in high-profile cases. The winner of today’s race will replace conservative Pat Roggensack, who first won her seat in 2003.

Voters also will fill an open state Senate seat in suburban Milwaukee, decide who will serve as mayor for the next four years in Green Bay and Racine, and select numerous local officeholders. Also ...
