In the state’s two most closely watched House races, the Dem challengers outraised the GOP incumbents.
But U.S. Reps. Bryan Steil, R-Janesville, and Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien, had more cash on hand for the final sprint.
In southeastern Wisconsin’s 1st CD, former Revenue Secretary Peter Barca reported $910,922 in receipts. The Dem spent $1.5 million and had $98,031 left in the bank at the end of September.
Steil reported $849,230 raised, $2.4 million spent and $3.2 million cash on hand.
In western Wisconsin’s 3rd CD, Dem nonprofit leader Rebecca Cooke reported $2.6 million raised between July 25-Sept. 30, including more than $2.3 million from individuals. She spent $2.5 million and finished the period with $659,750 cash on hand.Van Orden reported $1.4 million raised, $2.1 million spent and $1.7 million in the bank. His report listed $259,501 in debts.
