GOP businessman Eric Hovde pumped another $7 million of his own money into his U.S. Senate campaign over the past two months, pushing his personal investment to $20 million in his bid to beat Dem Tammy Baldwin.
The additional $7 million made up most of the $11.2 million that Hovde reported in receipts between July 25-Sept. 30. Meanwhile, Baldwin raised $11 million over that period, including $9.4 million from individuals.
Hovde pulled in just under $3 million from individuals, and he’s now accounted for nearly 72% of the money his campaign has pulled in since he launched his bid earlier this year.
Hovde spent $8.6 million during the reporting period and finished September with $5.7 million left in the bank.
Meanwhile, Baldwin spent $12.1 million and finished last month with $5.2 million cash on hand.
She’s now raised $47.8 million for the cycle.
Baldwin announced Tuesday she had raised $13.5 million for the full third quarter. Federal candidates in Wisconsin had to file a pre-primary report that covered July 1-24. The reports Wisconsin candidates filed yesterday didn’t include activity for the full three-month period.
