The state Dem Party raised $9.5 million in the preelection period, while its GOP counterpart pulled in $2.6 million.
The latest hauls pushed the Dem take from Jan. 1 to Oct. 21 to $29.4 million, compared to the $7.4 million the state GOP raised.
As has been the case on past reports, large donors and out-of-state contributions helped fuel the Dem financial edge.
The Dem Party reported more than $8.3 million in donations from those living outside of Wisconsin. That includes $2.4 million from LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman. In all, a dozen people gave the part at least $250,000, all of them from outside Wisconsin.
Other big donors include New York photographer Barry Munger, who contributed $790,000.
The party spent $13.1 million during the preelection period, which covered Sept. 24 to Oct. 21, and had $2.1 million in the bank.
Meanwhile, the biggest individual donor to the state GOP was Beloit businesswoman Diane Hendricks, who contributed $269,000. Meanwhile, the Committee to Elect a Republican Senate transferred $500,000 to the state party, while the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee gave $450,000.
The party reported receiving a single out-of-state donation of $5,000 as it spent $3.1 million during the period and finished Oct. 21 with $1.3 million in the bank.
