The state Dem Party announced it has promoted Sarah Abel to executive director.

Abel, a native of southeastern Wisconsin, served as deputy executive director during the 2024 cycle. The UW-La Crosse graduate previously worked for U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, as the communications director in his Washington, D.C., office and his campaign manager for the 2020 cycle. During the 2022 cycle, she worked on Sarah Godlewski’s U.S. Senate bid, and she handled communications for the liberal group American Bridge.

Devin Remiker left the executive director’s job in December to join the Biden-Harris campaign as a senior adviser. He is still serving in a senior adviser role to the state party.

Following his departure, Cassi Fenili stepped into the role in early 2024, serving in the position while she also continued her post as Gov. Tony Evers’ campaign manager. After leaving her party position, she will serve as campaign manager for Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford, while maintaining her role with Evers.
