Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley says he has raised over $550,000 since reentering the governor’s race.
That’s more than double the $250,048 he reported in the first six months of the year, the campaign noted in a press release. It’s also more than any other Dem candidate reported in cash on hand at the end of June.
Crowley reentered the governor’s race on Saturday after dropping out July 8.
Crowley’s campaign announced a six-figure statewide ad buy Wednesday, while two groups backing him reserved just under half a million dollars on broadcast and cable TV ads in Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay.

Crowley lagged much of the Dem field in fundraising during the first six months of the year.
He raised over $1 million between launching his campaign and June 30, ahead of Roys but lagging Barnes, Hong and Brennan.
