David Crowley topped the Dem gubernatorial field for fundraising over the final months of 2025, thanks partly to transfers from his Milwaukee County exec campaign and support from the southeastern Wisconsin business community, a WisPolitics review finds.

Crowley, a former state lawmaker who won the county exec’s office in 2020, reported $789,282 in donations and another $11,666 in in-kind contributions. He spent $187,530 for the period and finished 2025 with $602,182 in the bank.

Fundraising highlights from other top Dem guv contenders include:

*Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez: $618,285 raised, $174,894 spent, $2,034 in-kind donations, $603,075 in the bank, $39,401 in incurred obligations. 

*Joel Brennan, on leave from his job as president of the Greater Milwaukee Committee: $566,212 raised, $13,873 spent, $1,610 in in-kind donations, $552,339 cash on hand.

*Former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who joined the race three weeks before the end of the reporting period: $555,647 raised, $88,266 spent, $471,472 cash on hand.

*Former WEDC Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes: $465,403 raised, $63,059 spent, $13,681 in-kind donations, $402,344 cash on hand. 

*Madison Rep. Francesca Hong: $368,686 raised, $234,782 spent, $1,198 in-kind donations, $134,589 cash on hand. 

* Madison Sen. Kelda Roys: $355,456 raised, $84,930 spent, $23,133 in-kind, $334,032 cash on hand. 

On the GOP side, U.S. Rep. Tom Tifany, R-Minocqua, raised $2.1 million, spent $438,161 and finished 2025 with just under $1.7 million in the bank.

Washington County Exec Josh Schoemann reported $535,651 in receipts, including $100,000 he loaned his campaign, $3,650 in in-kind donations, spending of $381,394 and $492,495 in the bank to end the year.
