The local host committee for the 2024 Republican National Convention announced it has used leftover funds to make $5 million in charitable donations to Milwaukee nonprofits.
The MKE 2024 Host Committee filed a post-convention report last year showing it had raised more than $91 million for the event and had nearly $5 million left in the bank.
The group said today its donations of the leftover funds targeting charities serving young people, veterans and shelters.
Some of the 80 charities that received donations included: the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee; the Fisher House Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Veterans Network.
