GOP businessman and Milwaukee radio host Will Martin officially announced he will run for lieutenant governor.
Martin previously ran for lieutenant governor in 2022. He received 9.2% of the vote in the eight-candidate primary won by former state Sen. Roger Roth.
Martin, an at-large member of the state GOP’s Executive Committee, served in the administrations of GOP Govs. Tommy Thompson and Scott Walker.
In a video announcing his campaign Monday, Martin labels himself a “common sense conservative.” He says too many young people are leaving Wisconsin, jobs are being lost, AI and automation are disrupting industries and homeownership has become “a distant, if not impossible dream.”

“As lieutenant governor, I’ll work to cut the size and cost of state government and restore the promise of the American dream. Together, let’s ignite a new era of freedom, opportunity and prosperity from Kenosha to Cornucopia,” Martin says.
Martin is holding a campaign launch event in Columbus today at Columbus Chemical Industries.
Dem Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez is running for governor. Dem Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski has announced a bid to succeed Rodriguez, along with former Lancaster Mayor David Varnam, a Republican. Varnam also ran for the office in 2022, earning 5.2% of the vote in the GOP primary. Conservative activist Cindy Werner has said she’s also considering a bid.
