Liberal Supreme Court candidate Chris Taylor outraised conservative rival Maria Lazar more than 4-to-1 in the most recent reporting period, according to new filings.

Taylor also outspent Lazar more than 6-to-1 between Feb. 3 and March 23.

Taylor reported $2.1 million raised over the period, $3.8 million spent and $38,223 in in-kind contributions. She reported $332,389 in the bank to close the reporting period.

The state Dem Party transferred $700,000 to Taylor’s campaign, and she reported a $24,012 in-kind contribution from WisDems for a radio ad and a survey.

Lazar raised $474,395, spent $565,506 and listed $41,532 in in-kind contributions. She had $217,859 in the bank.

The Republican Party of Wisconsin transferred $60,000 to Lazar’s campaign. She also listed in-kind donations from the party of $35,911 for mail and $125 for emails.

Taylor has now raised $5.7 million for the race, compared to the $869,126 that Lazar has raised.

That includes the $152,463 in contributions Taylor has detailed since the close of the pre-election period and the $6,950 that Lazar has detailed.

Taylor spent $3.2 million on TV during the seven-week period.

Her other top expense was $332,207 for solicitation expenses and $92,212 for consulting fees. 

She also spent: $39,009 on campaign wages and employment taxes; $2,469 on staff insurance and benefits; $15,000 for online ads; and $4,989 on media-newspaper.

Lazar’s biggest expense was $267,022 for media-online advertising with another $78,000 spent on consulting fees.
