Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions: Net income, lending up in 2016 for state-chartered credit unions

Contact: George Althoff, 608-261-4504 MADISON – Wisconsin’s 143 state-chartered credit unions ended 2016 with a 16.9% gain in net income and a 9.9% jump in lending compared to 2015, according to data released today by the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). In the year ending Dec. 31, 2016: Net income totaled $329.2 million, up from $281.6 million in 2015. Total loans were $24.4 billion, up from $22.2 billion. Net worth was 11.08%, up from 10.97%.
