MILWAUKEE – Governor Scott Walker and Foxconn Founder and CEO Terry Gou today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The MOU was also signed by Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation CEO Mark Hogan and Special Assistant to the Chairman and CEO of Foxconn Louis K. Woo. Wisconsin Dept. of Safety and Professional Services: Issues statement on rulemaking

Contact: Alicia Naleid The Department of Safety and Professional Services has been engaged in rulemaking to update Wis. Admin. Code chapters 361 to 366, the Wisconsin Commercial Building Code. As part of this process, a review of the current fire sprinkler rules for multifamily dwellings was completed and feedback from stakeholders received. Stakeholder feedback called into question the enforceability of current fire sprinkler rules due to them being potentially more restrictive than allowed by statute. The Department takes these concerns seriously and has requested a formal attorney general’s opinion.
