Sen. Janet Bewley touted a message of togetherness to party activists tonight, as she stressed the strength of the state party following the fall general election last year.

The Ashland Dem, who spoke at the convention in place of Senate Majority Leader Jennifer Shilling, told activists while they all felt “angry and disappointed” in November, “we are a stronger party” now.

And she told convention-goers to get more involved in the party, as well as share the Dems’ message around the state.

Bewley also said Dems would need to be prepared to welcome the individuals who were “deeply disappointed in the vote that they cast for Donald Trump” into the party in the future.
