Racine County leaders hailed today’s announcement from the electronics manufacturer Foxconn that it’ll build a manufacturing campus in Mount Pleasant as a historic moment for southeast Wisconsin.
A top Foxconn executive also promised that the news is not only about the $10 billion facility and 13,000 jobs that Foxconn is planning — but the additional $30 billion or so in investments from suppliers and other companies that would expand in the area.
“We are looking for partnerships. I think that’s where the excitement is,” said Louis Woo, the special assistant to Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou.
