Groups press Walker over potential veto of quarry regulation measure in state budget

Beyond the possibility of eliminating the quarry provisions in their entirety, some are warning Gov. Scott Walker would have the option to use his partial veto authority to re-write the provisions to create implications for local governments’ ability to oversee frac sand mining.
Even before speculation began on whether the provisions could be affected by budget vetoes as part of a possible deal in the Senate for final passage, some were raising concerns on what a partial veto could mean.
