HEIFETZ EXPECTS OTHER STATES WILL FOLLOW WISCONSIN’S LEAD ON MEDICAID CHANGES
Outgoing state Medicaid director Michael Heifetz says he expects other states will follow Wisconsin’s lead in seeking permission from the federal government to drug-screen and test certain Medicaid applicants — once the state gets the go-ahead from the feds.
“We’ve had a number of states informally ask us about this, and many of them have said that they are awaiting our results before they jump in,” he told WisPolitics.com this week, although he declined to name the states or give exact numbers.
