JFC motion to dial back local governments’ regulations of quarries drawing fire

A motion that would dial back some local governments’ regulations of quarries where the material is mined for transportation projects is drawing fire from WMC for picking “winners and losers” among the state’s industries.
But Aggregate Producers of Wisconsin Executive Director Erin Longmire said the motion was a response to Gov. Scott Walker’s and legislators’ calls to find efficiencies in transportation, and would ultimately save taxpayers money.
