Rep. Cory Mason, who’s said he’ll run for mayor of Racine, said he would vote yes on the Foxconn bill today, adding while he still had concerns about the deal, the vote is about “the middle class in Racine, the future in Racine.”

Mason, who many thought would support the bill, said he often hears the same question from constituents: “What are we going to do about bringing good jobs back to Racine?”

“It’s harder and harder for Americans to make it if Americans don’t make anything like they used to,” the Racine Dem said.

He added while some have been raising concerns associated with the company, the deal is “our chance” to be part of the state’s “manufacturing hub again in the 21st century, with 21st century jobs.”
