Milwaukee beat out Oak Creek to supply the city of Waukesha with Lake Michigan water, officials announced today.
Under the deal, unveiled by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly this afternoon, construction of a 15.6-mile pipeline and pumping facilities is expected to begin in 2020 and be completed in 2023.
