New UW System audit finds shortcomings in IT security

A new audit of the UW System identified significant weaknesses in IT security at several campuses, though it doesn’t detail what they are due to security concerns.
A Legislative Audit Bureau report released today found shortcomings in the system’s IT security and processes, although “detailed results of our review were too sensitive to communicate publicly.” The weaknesses, LAB notes, increase the risk that student or employee data can be released.
