Stephen Einhorn, a partner at a Milwaukee venture capital firm, was one of the businessmen involved in setting up the talks between Humphries and Holtz ahead of the primary, according to sources with knowledge of the events.
Two sources said Einhorn, a partner at Capital Midwest Fund, pushed for the candidates to meet in the hopes one would emerge as strong challenger to Evers.
