THU AM Update: Regents to hear update on UW merger plan

-- The UW System Board of Regents will receive an update today on President Ray Cross' UW merger plan.
The plan folds the 13 two-year UW Colleges into seven nearby four-year institutions. The board recently passed it via a voice vote over opposition from Dem guv candidate and state schools Superintendent Tony Evers and Janice Mueller, a former state auditor.
The regents are meeting all day at UW-Madison.
