-- Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said today his caucus is looking to "whittle down" a proposed elimination of the personal property tax so the state can have more cash to guard against a possible economic downturn.
Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, told reporters after a Senate GOP caucus he heard from leaders at a conference that "there's a possibility that the economy could soften a little bit," which already is happening in other states.
