WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN — On Friday, December 22nd, at 3pm, a delegation of Waukesha children and families will deliver Christmas cards to Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson asking him to drop his application to turn his deputies into Immigration agents through the 287g program. 287g is a controversial program that turns local law enforcement into Immigration agents with the power to investigate immigration status and separate immigrant families. The program increases discrimination and spreads fear of law enforcement, making all less safe. The group will also call on Sheriff Severson to meet with a delegation of community leaders to discuss community concerns about the program. The group will rally outside the Sheriff’s office at 515 W Moreland Ave in Waukesha at 3pm before delivering the Christmas cards.
