Walker announces Moroney to fill new DOA position created in Foxconn bill

Walker today announced Matt Moroney will fill a new DOA economic development position created under the Foxconn bill.
Moroney, who’s currently Walker’s deputy chief of staff for operations, will transition to the job in the coming weeks and will work with WEDC on the Foxconn project. His title at DOA will be strategic economic initiatives director.
The former DNR deputy joined Walker’s office in 2015 as a senior advisor to oversee Walker’s proposed mergers of some state agencies, though the Legislature ended up rejecting his plan. Moroney was shifted to his current position after that.
