-- The mining bill is headed to Gov. Scott Walker after the Senate approved the legislation to lift a nearly two-decade old moratorium.
The bill cleared the Senate 19-14, helped by a key amendment the Assembly OK'd last week that was designed to win over several GOP senators.
In the end, Sen. Rob Cowles, R-Green Bay, was the only Republican to join all Dems in opposing the bill.
Under current law, companies seeking a sulfide mining permit must prove they operated for 10 years and were closed...
