-- The Joint Finance Committee this afternoon was working through the final votes on the state budget, including a tax package that would create a new exemption to the personal property tax that businesses pay and eliminate the alternative minimum tax.
The committee also voted 12-4 along party lines this afternoon to revamp the special needs scholarship, which allows students with a disability to receive state money to attend private schools.
The Legislative Fiscal Bureau estimated the changes would add 250 students in 2018-19,...
