Scott Walker and legislative Republicans. “As Gov. Walker chased the national spotlight, Wisconsin’s infrastructure was sorely neglected, and that hits taxpayers’ pocket books,” said Melanie Conklin, communications director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “Safe, reliable infrastructure is

Foxconn says plan to invest $10 billion in southeastern Wisconsin ‘remains unchanged’

Foxconn Technology Group is insisting it remains committed to its pledged $10 billion investment in southeastern Wisconsin, though the Taiwanese manufacturer also plans to make smaller screens at the Racine County site. The statement comes after a report from Nikkei Asian Review, which cites anonymous sources, that said Foxconn is considering producing smaller display panels for tablets, cars and other things, rather than the larger screens the company initially said it would make. The move, the story from the Japan-based publication said, would mean reduced initial costs for Foxconn as “large panel production would have required a more complete local

James Wigderson: Can Nicholson go negative?

It’s probably not a good idea for Nicholson to go negative. Not only will Nicholson’s campaign face a backlash, but Nicholson runs the risk of hurting the party’s chances of winning the Senate seat and holding on to the governor’s office. Nicholson is probably smart enough to realize that even if the out-of-town talent surrounding him doesn’t.
