Blighted Property to Receive New Single Family Home
Racine – Mayor Cory Mason, the City of Racine and the Great Lakes Community Conservation Corps (GLCCC) announce a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of a new single-family home located along Illinois Street in Racine. The property at 1432 Illinois Street will be the first new home constructed in the neighborhood in more than fifty years ago. The new home will serve as a training site for Racine’s young adults to learn hands-on skills in the building trades under the direction of professional contractors.
