Letter to RPW Executive Committee

Dear Executive Committee Members,

Let me begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for your efforts over the course of these last few months. From the start, we prepared for a challenging year given the headwinds that often face the party when it controls everything in Washington. As a result, we gained over 30,000 more votes than we received in 2014. With a close race for governor, a strong state party, and well-run legislative campaigns, we were able to keep our majorities in the Legislature and hold all of our congressional seats.

Together, we’ve made great progress over the last decade to not only protect but defend our bold, conservative reforms – and we’ve seen real results. Throughout all of it a unified Republican Party in our state has served as the backbone for these reforms. Now more than ever we need stability at the Party while we continue to protect our reforms and lay the groundwork to reelect President Trump. That’s why I urge you to support Brad Courtney for another term as Chairman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Brad’s record speaks for itself. He stood by my side as Chair during the recall in 2012 and helped orchestrate the Party’s role in my reelection in 2014. More recently, Brad was at the helm of the Party in 2016 when President Trump and Senator Johnson defied doubters and Wisconsin went red in a Presidential Election for the first time since 1984.

Make no mistake, our Party has a tough election cycle ahead so we must keep building for the future. I am confident with a strong, stable leader at the Republican Party of Wisconsin, we can continue to move our state in the right direction. Brad Courtney is the right man for that job.

Thank you for your prayers, support, and volunteer work over the last eight years. I couldn’t have done it without you. I’m confident that as a party, we will emerge from this stronger and more equipped than ever before, and that we’ll continue to keep Wisconsin moving Forward.

Best,

Governor Scott Walker
