MADISON, Wis. — In an interview Assembly Speaker Robin Vos acknowledged climate change “probably” exists but, despite overwhelming peer reviewed scientific evidence of human impact, he has “no idea why it is occurring.” One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Analiese Eicher noted Vos is definitely not helping address the crisis that he thinks may exist. “Rep. MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers announced today his appointment of Cheryl Brehmer as the new Winnebago County Coroner. This appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Barry Busby. “Ms. Brehmer will be an excellent Coroner and will serve the citizens of Winnebago County with a high degree of professionalism,” said Gov. Evers. “Through her prior service to the county as both a Deputy Coroner and Chief Deputy Coroner, Ms. Brehmer possesses both the medical knowledge and the compassion necessary to lead the coroner’s office.” Brehmer, a Winnebago County native, has worked in the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office since 2012. MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has been investigating an officer involved death (OID) in the city of Madison, Wis. that occurred on the evening of Sunday, October 27, 2019. Madison Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 6500 block of Raymond Road. The suspect approached the police officers and discharged his weapon at the officers, who returned fire. The suspect, Dean G. Thomas, age 63, of Madison, WI, was struck. Authorities performed lifesaving measures and the subject was transported to University Hospital. The subject later succumbed to injuries. No
