-- The bipartisan Transportation Projects Commission meets today for the first time in five years to go over major highway projects.
The 15-member commission traditionally would meet in even-numbered years to review projects that had undergone an environmental study period in odd-numbered years.
But the commission hasn't convened since December 2014. It previously took an eight-year hiatus from 2002 to 2010. The Legislature is capable of directing DOT highway projects without TCP input.
