-- Gov. Tony Evers says he called a Jan. 27 special election to replace outgoing U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Weston, to fill the seat "quickly to ensure the people of the 7th Congressional District have representation as soon as possible."
But the state GOP accused Evers of making a political decision by avoiding the already- scheduled spring election.
