Are you baffled by the budget? Do you have 999 questions about the #999? Are you wondering if JFC stands for Just Freaking Confused? Then join WWIG for another event in our Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Series!

Whether you’re a budget beginner or a session-seasoned pro, bi-partisan staff will be availaible to explain the State Budget process and answer questions from attendees.

Our Presenters:

Sarah Barryย is Chief of Staff to Sen. Patty Schachtner (D-Somerset). Previously, Sarah served as Clean Wisconsinโ€™s principal government liaison and directed policy formation and advocacy for the organization. Prior to her work with Clean Wisconsin, Sarah ran an issue advocacy non-profit organization dedicated to energy customers. Over the last decade, Sarah served as Chief of Staff to three Wisconsin state senators and as Legislative Director for the Senate Minority leader in the 2013-14 legislative session. Sarah has been a reliable and confidential advisor to key decision makers in the public sector throughout her career. Her experience with and passion for government and public service spans her twenty-year professional career. Prior to her work in the Wisconsin legislature, Sarah worked as a non-partisan analyst for the State of Wisconsin, the Federal Government, and as a private sector health care consultant. Sarah is a 2001 graduate of the La Follette School of Public Affairs.

Jenny Malcoreย is a public affairs director with Foley & Lardner LLP. Before joining Foley, Jenny served as assistant deputy secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Jenny has also served in numerous legislative staff positions including chief of staff for State Representative John Nygren, Co-chairman of the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee. A main focus of Jennyโ€™s was to assist the representative in his efforts to fight opioid overdose deaths, including prescription drugs and heroin. Jenny has also worked for the Brown County Sheriffโ€™s Department Jail Division.
