NextGen Wisconsin: Stands with public health officials, Governor Evers in postponing elections

Madison, WI –  NextGen Wisconsin supports the decision Governor Tony Evers made in postponing the election to June 9. According to public health officials, it is clear that any in-person voting at this time comes as a risk to Wisconsinites across the state. “NextGen Wisconsin is committed to making sure young voters have an opportunity to be heard on election day in a safe manner. The bottom line is that an election held tomorrow would pose a hazard to the health of communities across Wisconsin,” said NextGen Wisconsin State Operations Director Christina Carvalho. “Any election that occurs at this moment will

WisGOP: Statement on Gov. Tony Evers’ unconstitutional maneuver to postpone the April 7 election

[Madison, WI] – In response to Gov. Tony Evers’ unconstitutional maneuver to postpone the April 7 election, the Republican Party of Wisconsin issued the following statement from Chairman Andrew Hitt: “It is tragic to see such a reckless disregard for the Constitution from Gov. The Legislature’s top Republicans said they planned to immediately appeal the move to the state Supreme Court. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, and Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, called it an unconstitutional overreach. Evers’ move comes after GOP lawmakers rejected his last-minute request to meet in special session to conduct the spring election by mail
